In 2010 our Palm Terrace is mostly comprised of clone 337 Cabernet Sauvignon from Julie’s Knoll, with a touch of Petit Verdot co-fermented as well. This extremely rocky, Southwest-facing hillside is a one-of-a-kind vineyard in Napa Valley, perched above the Stag’s Leap District. There are similarities, but it is just a touch warmer, allowing for beautiful ripening in 2010. This gave the wine a tremendously deep, dark purple-black color. We find aromas of blackberry, raspberry, sage, white flowers, and dark chocolate. The palate is very dense and rich, with light tannins providing focus. The wine was aged in 100% new French Oak barrels for 21 months before being bottling unfiltered.
